Kellye Laughery, LMFT is the founder and Executive Director of The Center for Family Unity in San Diego. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist, she helps blended families, couples, and children move through transition, conflict, and loss toward connection.
Her path to therapy was anything but ordinary. Before becoming a therapist, Kellye owned the first surf shop in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Mexico, and worked as a Fortune 250 executive. Her own experiences with grief, heartbreak, and emotional recovery shaped the practical, results-oriented therapist she is today.
Kellye integrates unconventional tools -- including play therapy, sand tray therapy, pet therapy, and whole-family counseling -- to help families actually move forward. The work is grounded in both clinical training and lived experience, and it is built to fit real family life.
